THE FATE of Sam Pyne, the President’s nominee for the Kumasi Mayor position, will be decided on Thursday September 30, which falls tomorrow.
Assemblymen in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) are expected to either endorse or reject him on the day.
THE NEW PUBLISHER has learnt that Thursday has been settled on as the day for Sam Pyne’s confirmation election.

Sam Pyne is the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), having served the party well.
The president’s decision to settle on him as the Kumasi Mayor position did not come as a surprise to the people.
His nomination sparked wild cheers and applause from Kumasi residents, who claimed he is fit for the position.
Secret Campaign
Reports making rounds indicated that Sam Pyne and his team are confident of securing confirmation at first round.
Sam Pyne’s team, reportedly, has held secret meetings with the assemblymen, and urged them to confirm him.
Credible information also suggested that some top NPP gurus are also campaigning for Sam Pyne for the position.
Meanwhile, it looks likely the confirmation polls would be held at the Prempeh Assembly Hall, the paper has learnt.
