The Ghanaian international football player, Daniel Amartey, has reached an agreement with Turkish giants, Besiktas on a three- year deal after his contract with the Premier League club expired in June.
The 30-year-old defender, who is now a free agent garnered interest from various European clubs during the ongoing summer transfer window.
One of the prominent links was to Scottish giants Rangers, especially after their former manager, Brendan Rodgers, was reappointed as the head coach.
During his time at Leicester City, Amartey made over 100 appearances for the club, scoring two goals. His contributions played a crucial role in the team’s recent achievements, including winning the FA Cup and the Community Shield in 2021.
However, following Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League, Amartey expressed his desire not to stay at the club. The experienced defender has made the decision to join Besiktas, and the transfer is set to be completed next week, due to pending finalization of all negotiations.
Amartey is a notable player for the Ghanaian national team, the Black Stars, and was part of the squad that represented Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
