De-Eye documentary: Kwaku Baako advises Gov’t
Veteran Journalist and Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr has cautioned government against dismissing Joy News latest investigative piece titled ” Militia At The Heart Of The Nation”.
The documentary by Manasseh Azure Awuni which revealed how a new probe militia group by name De-Eye was been trained at the Osu Castle has been condemned by government describing the investigative piece as containing misrepresentation and misleading standards.
Government subsequently filed a complaint at the National Media Commission asking the Commission to probe the documentary.
However Mr Baako speaking to this in a discussion on Joy FM’s Newsfile programme said the substance of the documentary should rather be of concern to governement.
”The specific aspects of Manasseh’s documentary must not and cannot take away the substance of that investigative project. Government must stay focus, admittedly they can give a listening ear to the work, as well as have private assessment of the merit of the case.” he said.
According to him, government to overlook such work in order to deny the substance of the project is of a better description as being dishonest.
He further stated that, upon seeing the mask men in the documentary, there is something very serious out there which out to be interrogated.
