The mother of nine year old Abiba Abdullai who was battling a strange disease is heaving a sigh of relief months after the De-Graft Johnson Foundation adopted the girl.
The foundation single handedly financed the medical bills of Abiba who was hit by some unknown disease, leaving her bed-ridden for nine months.
THE NEW PUBLISHER in its April 6, 2020 edition reported about the condition of Abiba.
Abiba Dying
The paper reported that the class three pupil of the Bright Leaders International School was suffering from a sickness doctors say requires much money to cure.
Abiba had large spreading sores all over her body with pus and blood oozing from it every day, making it impossible for the girl to do anything for herself.
Aisha Abdullai, mother of the girl narrating her ordeal on The De-Graft Johnson Show on Tumpani TV said her child only complained of leg pains a day after her graduation from school, a complaint that was to be the beginning of her woes.
According to her doctors have declared Abiba medically fit and have advised her to consider spiritual assistance.
Aisha said she has sold her container in order to raise money to save her daughter’s life, just at a time her landlord broke into her room and threw her things out in the rain for none payment of a GH¢700 rent.
Abiba’s Well
However, after two months admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Abiba is back home with a fresh bill of health.
Abiba, according to the Chief Executive of the Foundation Mr. Richmond De-Graft Johnson is better and responding to treatment.
Mr. De-Graft Johnson stated that Abiba”s discharge is pending surgery.
While expressing his exceptional gratitude to all donors noted that the Association owes this feat to the numerous Ghanaians who were touched by the plight of the girl and donated towards her treatment.
New Start
The papers sources say so far the foundation has spent over GH₵ 25,000 in its desperate attempt to restore the health of Abiba.
Meanwhile, The De-Graft Johnson Foundation taking their charity work a notch further has rented and furnished a Chamber and Hall self-contain apartment for the mother and her daughter at an undisclosed location in Accra.
These include a brand new bed, brand new wardrobe, brand new television, GH₵1,000 allowance and assorted food items for the upkeep of the family.
