‘Death Trap Road’ Faces Closure

PLANS ARE in the offing to temporarily close the Abrepo to Asuofia road, which suffered serious damages early this week and thus, turned it into a death trap, to traffic.

Virtually, half of the busy road, which was recently constructed by government, caved in unexpectedly.

As a result of the huge defect, the double lane road network has now been turned into a single lane road.

Credible reports reaching THE NEW PUBLISHER indicated that the road would be closed soon for reconstruction, at the instance of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah.

The minister, sources said, during an inspection tour of the road, noticed the imminent danger, and has therefore planned to announce the temporary closure to help prevent any accident.

“We shall start constructing other access roads and afterwards the minister would close the road.

“The single remaining lane is now hanging and can collapse anytime”, a source close to the minister said.
