Death-trap traffic light in Kumasi

A FAULTY traffic light is posing great danger to drivers, commuters and other roads users in Kumasi.

The death-trap traffic light is located at Amakom Brigina Area, which is a busy road network in the area.

The traffic light gives red and green signals at the same time to motorists and pedestrians causing confusion in the process.

Countless accidents have occurred at the spot as a result of the anomaly.

Some residents of Kumasi, notably drivers, have complained about the danger ahead but to no avail.

THE NEW PUBLISHER visited the faulty traffic light on Saturday after receiving several complaints.

Interestingly, during the paper’s visit in the afternoon, the traffic light was still given confusing signals.

For instance, the traffic light could give red and green signals at the same time leaving drivers confuses drivers.

Some of the drivers told the paper that the traffic light had developed a fault for some months now.

According to them, city authorities who also ply on the same road, seemed unconcerned.

The drivers said several cars have crashed at the spot, due to the faulty traffic light. They urged authorities to fix the fault.
