Brave warrior Andre Ayew is now the toast of the Turkish media over his selfless act of continuing to play for club, Fenerbahce despite suffering a serious broken finger in their top-flight game over the weekend.
The Ghana’s talisman, Andre Ayew caught the headlines in Turkey after staying on the pitch with a broken finger for Fenerbache as they lost 2-1 to Trabzonspor.
Ayew suffered the injury in the first half and the medical team led by Dr Burak immediately intervened and concluded that the midfielder could not continue to play.
The excruciating pain could not prevent Ayew from continuing the game as he opted to play despite the medical team’s decision to have him substituted.
The Ghanaian asked for treatment on the sidelines and continued the game with the injury on the right hand that had a fracture on the fourth finger.
Deded Ayew continued the game with a bandaged hand which has drawn widespread praise among the Turkish media and fans as an example of a player’s commitment to the team.
It is unclear whether the Ghanaian star who has started treatment will play against Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League.
Despite the injury he also made some important contributions to the game for Fenerbahce.
