Pep Guardiola lamented a poor ten minutes from his team as Manchester City came unstuck at Chelsea.
The defending Premier League champions have lost their first domestic game of the campaign, and sit second behind Liverpool in the table after Jurgen Klopp’s team won at Bournemouth.
City’s manager was full of praise for his players after the game, refusing to blame injuries or any mistakes that contributed towards one of the only setbacks of the season so far.
Pep said: “Everybody wants to beat us – being in the position that we are, playing a lot of games in the position that we have, in the way we want to play.
“You don’t have to tell me how competitive this league is.”
City’s first defeat in the Premier League season hit Guardiola hard after Liverpool overtook them at the top. The pressure is getting to them already and the intensity will only ramp up in the second half of the season.
