Demo to Hit Kennedy Agyapong in Kumasi
PLANS ARE in the pipeline for a mammoth demonstration against leading New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, Kennedy Agyapong, in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, very soon.
The demonstrators insist they are fed up with the Assin Central Constituency Law Maker’s constant insults at his fellow NPP members, and promised to hit the streets one of these days.
The mammoth demonstration is expected to be organized by the ‘Porcupine Warriors of Ashanti’, a pressure group in Kumasi, whose members are mainly known NPP members in the city.
Interestingly, the Ashanti Regional Vice Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Kwabena Nsenkyire, is among the leaders of the pressure group that has vowed to kick against Agyapong’s habit.
Just recently, Kennedy reportedly rained unprintable words at Kwabena Nsenkyire live on radio in Kumasi because he claimed Nsenkyire had opined that he saw nothing wrong with Anas’ style of investigations and suggested that the Assin Central MP could relocate from Ghana to Togo if he so wished.
Touching on the impending demonstration, the Regional NPP First Vice Chairman said the organizers are largely NPP members, who are fed up with Kennedy Agyapong’s insulting behaviour.
Speaking on Nhyira FM, Nsenkyire said party members would in the coming days organize a press conference, which would be followed by a big demonstration on June 30.
“We want to prove to Kennedy Agyapong that the party in the Ashanti region doesn’t want his monetary support again. You can’t help us and turn around to rain insults on us”, he stressed.
He disclosed that several affluent businessmen in the country supported the NPP with money and logistics during the 2016 elections but none of them had uttered a word since then, saying “we don’t want Kennedy’s cash again”.
