Deputy Chief of Staff Supports Bantama Schools
SIX SCHOOLS in the Bantama Constituency in Kumasi have taken delivery of computers and their accessories to help boost their academic work.
The lucky schools have also received copies of a book titled ‘Grandma Goody’s Story from Gold Coast to Ghana’, which talks about Ghana’s history.
The Deputy Chief of Staff, Francis Asenso-Boakye, purchased the computers and the books for distribution to the schools, namely, Ohwim RC Primary, Bantama Islamic, Akosah MA Primary, Bantama Adomanu MA Primary, Bohhen MA Primary and Bantama Methodist from his personal coffers.
This is the second time in five months that Asenso-Boakye, a native of Bantama, is making a donation to improve the area.
It would be recalled that, a few months ago, he donated medical equipment to the Suntreso Government Hospital at Bantama, to boost health delivery in the area.
In his remarks after presenting the items on Saturday, Mr. Asenso-Boakye, aka ‘Kabila’, said he was only giving back to society; and recounted the numerous benefits that he had derived from Banatama since his childhood days.
According to him, government alone cannot develop the country, hence the need for the public to support in diverse ways.
Mr. Asenso-Boakye charged the students, being the future leaders of the country, to constantly read their books; just as President Akufo-Addo did when he was young.
Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi, admonished the public to play leading roles to help develop the country, saying “The country belongs to all of us”.
Bantama MP, Daniel Okyem Aboagye, was full of praise for the deputy chief of staff for the gesture. Edmund Kyei, the NPP Asokwa Constituency First Vice Chairman, Kwame Sarfo Adu, NPP top member and Kofi Akpaloo, a top politician, were present.
