Sources close to the family confirmed John Kumah’s death. Reports suggest the late MP had been battling an undisclosed illness for approximately three months and may have passed away outside of Ghana.
As of now, there has been no official statement regarding his death. It is noteworthy that Parliament House had to adjourn for the day upon the news emerging, highlighting the impact of this loss on the political sphere.
In a video shared by TV3 on X, individuals gathered there were audibly distraught, with loud wails echoing and some pacing on the open compound. Several women dressed in black and red attire were visibly mourning.
Known for his roles as Member of Parliament for the Ejisu constituency in the Ashanti Region and former CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Dr. Kumah was a prominent figure in promoting start-ups and SMEs in Ghana.
Before his untimely demise, he was a respected lawyer, entrepreneur, and politician with a wealth of experience spanning over 15 years.
His legacy includes significant contributions to leadership, innovation, and youth development, through initiatives focused on job creation and support for budding entrepreneurs across the country.
