Deputy Minister jabs NDC …Over Free SHS
THE DEPUTY Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has descended heavily on the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the latter’s criticism of the Free SHS Policy.
He described the free policy, introduced by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, as one the best things to happen to Ghana, and admonished the NDC “to put policy ahead of politics”.
The deputy minister, who did understand why the NDC is using resources and every effort to collapse the programme, which had been embraced by the people, said it was wrong for anybody to attach partisan politics to the free SHS policy.
The deputy minister was speaking during the official launch of the Corporate Strategic Plan by the University of Education, Winneba in Kumasi.
The corporate strategic plan, which would last for five years from 2019-2023, mainly seeks to put the university at a proper position to deliver on its mandate.
The strategic themes of the university include financial sustainability and accountability, and proactive quality assurance system.
The themes also include research and innovation, excellent academic standards in teaching and learning, and enhanced access, equity and inclusion, among others.
