HUMAN ERROR has been identified as the cause of the Dompoase accident that killed two people. Police investigators have realized that the driver of the car was watching video on his mobile phone at the time.
This reckless driving on the part of the driver, led to the crash, which unfortunately claimed two human lives.
Chief Supt. Emmanuel Aduboahene, the Ashanti Regional MTTD Commander, openly bemoaned about the report.
He wondered why a driver in charge of a vehicle, laden with people, could cause such blunder and kill people.
It would be recalled that there was a bloody accident at Dompoase, few days to the December 7 national polls.
Two people, who were onboard the vehicle, reportedly, gave up the ghost right at the gory accident scene.
Chief Supt. Aduboahene said the cause of the crash was not immediately known so police started investigations.
“And it will surprise you to know that the driver was watching video on his mobile phone whilst driving”.
He said watching video or pictures on a mobile phone “is a distractive driving” and it may lead to crashes and deaths.
The police capo said it is disheartening to realize that a driver could watch video on phone whilst on a highway.
He urged passengers to always be alert and caution drivers that may try to misbehave behind the steering wheels.
“Don’t sleep in cars because you have the right to caution the driver when he is misbehaving”, the police capo noted.
According to him, it is important that passengers would also monitor their drivers so they would not cause crashes.
