NADMO directors threaten protest over unpaid salaries
The Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of NADMO said there was to be a meeting in Accra next month to pursue other further their demands for payment.
The added that they will resort to demonstrations if they are not given a favourable response.
But in an interview with Citi News, the Director of Communications at NADMO, George Kojo Ayisi called for calm from the directors.
“I know for a fact that work is ongoing. Their letters are being prepared and I think some have even been dispatched to the regions so they should exercise restraint and hold on,” he assured.
“Very soon their salaries will be paid to them. Every penny that the state owes them will be paid to them.”
Mr. Ayisi suggested that the delay was due to a communication gap between the two parties.
“As for the full-scale demonstration, it has not been formally brought to our notice yet. There is no formal communication with the leadership yet.”
“They’ve been expressing their displeasure at the delays and we’ve been giving them the updates on what is going on,” he added.
