No matter what comes against you, be of good cheer. Don’t lose your joy. God is on your side. He has said that He will never leave you nor forsake you. In Mark 6:50, Jesus came walking on the water and said to the disciples who were in their ship toiling: “Be of good cheer!” Don’t lose your joy.
If you lose your joy, your strength would weaken. The joy of the Lord is your strength. Keep your joy.
Joy does not come from happiness. Joy comes from what you know and who you know.
Joy comes by the Word and the promises of God which are known to you. It is not when you buy a car or build a house. What you express when you buy a car, or build a house is happiness. That is not what is called joy, that is happiness. How many of you know that a house can burn down?
So, there are times happiness fluctuates but joy is constant. Joy is not based on an event, it comes from within.
Paul said in 2 Timothy 1:12, ‘For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless, I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.’ (KJV)
Apostle Paul was saying in essence: You can’t change my mind. I am persuaded because I know whom I have believed, and I am not ashamed. I know that it will turn out well and that is why I can’t lose my joy. I know that God is with me always and I can’t be alone. And this revelation gives me joy. Jesus has said, ‘Be of good cheer.’ So, how can I lose my joy!.
