A message of condolence from Nana Appiah Mensah, Chief Executive of Menzgold and top man at the helm of Zylofon Media has sparked a rather startling uproar on social media, so fierce that the gentleman would be on Zylofon 102.1 FM this morning to clarify his message.
“We had a fruitful meeting and reached an Agreement just last Tuesday. “Please help me pay him for my bail out. I want to be free”. I hope you’re free now & find absolute peace in the bosom of the almighty God. Let’s pay CRITICAL ATTENTION to our female artistes. #RIPEbony”, Nana Appiah Mensah tweeted on Saturday.
The “please help me pay him for my bail out” and “I want to be free” portions of the tweet have received tons of interpretations and misinterpretations alike.
Though Nana Appiah Mensah did not give details on what exactly the two sentences meant, many on social media, have speculated that Ebony had gone to the Zylofon boss to bail her financially from her known managers so she is free to work with a new company.
Nana Appiah Mensah, some seven hours after his “bail out” tweet, sent out yet another message on @mn_appiah.
It read: “The earlier assertion has nothing to do with her record label and her manager. There’s nothing wrong with committing to a contract and wanting to satisfy a termination or exit cause, which forms part of the express terms. Kindly tune in to @zylofon102.1fm on Monday 8am”.
Meanwhile, Samuel Atuobi Baah, Director of Communications for Zylofon Media, on same Saturday issues a short press statement which said Mr. Appiah Mensah would be clarifying his tweet on Zylofon FM Monday morning.
The statement issued by Mr. Atuobi Baah read: “It has come to our notice that a harmless tweet which was supposed to express how the Chief Executive Officer of Zylofon Media Nana Appiah Mensah feels about the sudden death of our dear sister Ebony has sparked unexpected controversies on social media.
“In this vein, we at Zylofon Media would want a clarification call to this issue so all opinions on the tweet and instagram post will be put to rest as the understanding and the interpretations being put out by many industry people are now disturbing and worrying to say the least.
“We hope all concerned people will keep their cool and remain calm in these times of pain and sorrow so not to hurt emotions of others in our public discussions.”
