THE ASHANTI Regional Electoral Commission (EC) Boss, Benjamin Bandoh Bio, has lost his cash and mobile phones to armed robbers.
The EC top official was robbed at gunpoint together with one Kwabena Yeboah, Kwaku Yeboah and Stephen Opoku Mensah on Saturday evening.
The four victims of the robbery attack were onboard a Nissan Patrol vehicle when they were robbed on a bridge on the Obuasi-Anwiankwanta Highway.
The vehicle, registered by GN 8425-13, was ordered to stop by a the armed robbers, who were in possession of deadly weapons and guns.
A police sitrep indicated that the EC boss and his group were returning from Mpohor Dominase in the Western Region to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The police report, which THE NEW PUBLISHER has spotted, said the highway robbers mounted roadblock to prevent the car from speeding away.
It also said the attackers managed to forcibly take away an amount of money and three expensive mobile phones, including Infinix, Huawei and Itel.
The report noted that the robbers after taking away the items and cash, vanished their the bush and the victims reported the case to the police later on.
The police are investigating the case and efforts are also being made to help apprehend the suspects from their hideouts.
