Officials of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) are working assiduously to fix power faults in Kumasi.
Most of the communities in the Ashanti region have been under restricted movement due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The directive by government is to help prevent the spread of the deadly virus, which is claiming lives worldwide.
The Ashanti Regional ECG has taken advantage of the situation to fix all the power faults in the Ashanti region.
Erasmus Kyere-Baidoo, the Ashanti Regional ECG Communication Director, said ECG wants to boost power supply.
According to him, his outfit is making frantic efforts to fix all power faults in Kumasi and the Ashanti region in general.
Mr. Baidoo noted that the ECG is aware that residents of Kumasi are locked in their homes due to the lockdown.
He said the ECG wants to improve power supply so that Kumasi residents would not suffer during the lockdown.
According to him, broken electricity pylons in Kumasi and other communities have been fixed by ECG electricians.
He also stated that all faults that were causing blackouts and power fluctuations have been resolved by the ECG.
