ECG Tackles Power Strain, Urges Customer Support

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has responded to customer concerns regarding the capacity of distribution transformers in various communities.

They have identified 630 distribution transformers that have reached full capacity due to increased demand, leading to potential challenges.

In a press release dated March 11, ECG explained that these issues could result in technical difficulties such as blown fuses and broken conductors, potentially causing power outages during peak load periods from 7 pm to 11 pm.

The company assured customers that they are actively working to address this by upgrading existing infrastructure and initiating new projects to relieve pressure on the transformers, ensuring a more reliable power supply.

Customers in affected areas were advised to report any outages or voltage fluctuations to the ECG call center at 0302611611 or on their social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at ECGghofficial) for prompt assistance.

The statement emphasized the company’s ongoing efforts to improve the power distribution system and requested the support and patience of affected customers during this process.
