EDMUND KYEI, the Asokwa Constituency first Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has donated boxes of hand sanitizers to the party.
Valued at Gh 5,000, the hand sanitizers are to be distributed to the NPP members in the Asokwa Constituency to protect them against the deadly Covid-19 virus.
Making the presentation on Saturday, Edmund Kyei said the donation is his personal contribution towards stopping the spread of the dangerous disease in his constituency.
Again, he said the donation was geared towards helping the NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, in her efforts to protect the people from the virus.
“Our mother, Sompahemaa Patricia Appiagyei is doing her best to help protect all of us from being infected by the deadly Coronavirus and we must applaud her for her efforts.
“But it is an enormous task and she cannot do it alone so we need to support her. This donation by me is to set the right example for well-to-do-people in Asokwa to help our MP”.
According to him, anybody that has the financial wherewithal could also donate hand sanitizers to those that cannot afford, saying “we should be each other’s keeper”.
Edmund Kyei also lauded President Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP government for being pro-active, with regards to protecting the citizenry from the deadly virus so far.
According to him, the government has instituted the necessary measures to help protect Ghanaians from the virus and so he admonished the people to adhere to advice from health workers.
“We should keep our personal hygiene seriously and also make sure that advice from health professionals, through the government, is respected and adhered to at all times”, he said.
Edmund Kyei, who is a member of the NPP National Communications Team, sounding very confident, stated categorically that the virus would be defeated very soon.
