Ekumfi Fruits Company Must Be Monitored To Avert Collapse
Blue Skies Ghana Limited is warning of possible collapse of the Ekumfi Fruits & Juices Company Limited in the Central Region, if authorities fail to strictly monitor the facility.
According to Blue Skies Ghana Limited, the unavailability of quality raw materials for the Ekumfi fruits company could greatly affect its operations.
The Ghana Export and Import (EXIM) Bank recently approved GH¢7.7 million to finance the Ekumfi Fruits & Juices Company Limited located at Ekumfi Abor in the Central Region.
But speaking to Citi Business News, the Director of Corporate Affairs at Blue Skies, Alistair Djimatey urged managers of the company to secure raw materials for the smooth running of the company.
“Getting quality raw materials is a big challenge for companies in the fruits processing value-chain in terms of production. If their production system is set and they have good strategies in place they should be able to get the right quality of fruits”.
Mr. Djimatey also cautioned the factory about the country’s stressful land tenure system.
According to him, the subject is one of the main challenges of agriculture and for that matter food production in Ghana.
He advised managers of Ekumfi Fruits & Juices Company Limited to be mindful of constant electricity supply.
