Emirates Airlines Stops ‘Di Asa’ Queen …From Boarding Flight
The dream of embarking on the much anticipated historic visit to Dubai was cut short for Precious Mensah aka PM, winner of plus size women reality show, ‘Di Asa’, when officials of Emirates Airlines denied her from boarding the plane due to her size.
PM whose hopes has been dashed survived twelve weeks of eviction edging out fifty contestants in the third edition of the show.
It is unclear whether the officials of the airline would rescind their decision to allow PM.
It is also unclear what calamity would befall the airline and the other customers onboard if PM is allowed to go.
Part of the prizes for the winners of the Atinka TV’s flagship reality show was a Dubai trip for the winner and two runner ups.
However, only the first and second runner ups, Maafia and Gaza, were able to make the trip leaving the winner, PM, behind.
The New Publisher gathers that PM, who was travelling with the other winners on Emirates, was denied boarding despite successfully checking in her luggage in person “all because her body size was bigger than a single seat in Emirates Airlines’ flight.”
Few minutes before being denied boarding, PM expressed her excitement about the trip and expressed gratitude to the Atinka Media Village for the opportunities given to plus size women but the failure turned into a different mood of sorrow and disappointment.
Social media buzzes
Social media has been flooded with mixed reactions – fury, thought-provoking, mockery and to some extent, jovial comments after the news broke.
While some argue the decision to “kick her out of the plane” is discriminatory, others say Atinka Media Village, organizers of the event should have bought her two tickets knowing how huge PM is.
