The Minister for Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has met with staff members and management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) to acquaint himself with first hand information and to experience the practicalities of the situation on the ground at the refinery.
The Minister, during the visit, spoke about government’s commitment towards ensuring the viability of TOR to make it a leading player on the African continent. He further explained the need for management and staff of the refinery to sit up and work together as it was in their collective interest to do so.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh expressed optimism that through concerted collective efforts, continued collaboration and creative innovation, TOR can fulfill its mandate and contribute to the reformation and transformation of Ghana’s oil and gas sector.
He said TOR is a prized and strategic national asset and can fulfill its mandate if all stakeholders come together in a purposive way to give true meaning to President Akufo-Addo’s vision of a ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’.
