The Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) is said to have retrieved over 100 million cedis from individuals said to have misappropriated public funds.
Host of Adom FM’s morning show ‘Dwaso Nsem’, Captain Smart, revealed this on the station’s anti-corruption segment, Fabewoso, saying after they petitioned EOCO with documents to investigate and prosecute state officials implicated in the Auditor General’s report, there has been some level of results.
He said persons from institutions like the Ghana Education Service, COCOBOD, and those who owe Venture Capital have started paying their debts.
Captain Smart, in May last year, led a demonstration to raise awareness about the high levels of corruption in Ghana and also demand accountability from managers of the economy.
He hinted of another demonstration if those public officials found culpable are left off the hook.
Fabewoso is an Adom FM anti-corruption segment which focuses on unearthing corrupt activities among various government institutions where perpetrators of corrupt acts are named and shamed as well.
The segment which is aired on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:00 am has helped unearth many corrupt activities in several state agencies.
It has helped in the reformation of several institutions as well.
