Ghanaian dancehall act, Theophilus Nii Arday Otoo, known by stage name Epixode, has finally explained the reason behind his recent arrest by the police.
The artiste, who was arrested last week by the Tema police, says the incident occurred due to a misunderstanding between him and the law enforcement officers.
Speaking in an interview with Zylofon FM’s Sammy Flex, he said he was returning from Tema with his team around 11pm when they were stopped by the Tema Police for driving in a car with a ‘DV’ number plate.
According to him, since he was not the one driving the car, he did not approach the police but sat in the car observing what was going on, till he realized his manager was being ‘mishandled’ by the police.
“I was sitting in the car but I couldn’t look on since he was there because of me, so I came out. Sometimes when stuff like this happen, tempers go high”, he said.
Though he did not say exactly what he personally did, Epixode admitted everything that later happened was his fault. He said he got angry and overreacted over the issue, which he realized could have been solved amicably by both parties.
Some days ago, a video involving Epixode exchanging words with police went viral. He was handcuffed and was being dragged into a police vehicle. The video caused a stir on social media for a while with people wondering what led to his arrest.
The artiste, however, admitted it was his entire fault, saying “At a point in time, I lost control of my temper,” he said.
