Event Review: After The Storm; Came The Reign

Saturday, the 13th of October will forever remain in the entertainment history books as one of the most successful album release concerts ever as Shatta Wale officially outdoor-ed his much anticipated REIGN album.

The concert which saw a mammoth crowd of over 20,000 fans from all over the country with others even flying in from outside Ghana to witness this historic event and be part of it. Aside the crowd inside the Fantasy Dome, there was about almost the same number outside with and without tickets wanting to go in to witness too.

As at about 7pm, majority of the fans were already seated inside the Fantasy dome, there was little space to move in as those left struggled to get through and take position at the already packed media stand.

DJ Vyrusky and a hypeman jammed the already hyped crowd to Back to back Shatta Wale songs and they sang along perfectly for about an hour and half.

After was the turn of the Zylofon Arts Club members with Xylo, Efe Keys and Smokey Beats who gave awesome performances to merit cheers from the crowd.

Soon after they were done, the lights went off and there came the acclaimed African Dancehall King costumed in an all white REIGN ALBUM hoodie and the cheers could bring down the Jericho Wall.

He started off with a surprise live band performance which the King did to perfection. He performed back to back monster hits from his Bandana days till recent.

Unsurprisingly, the crowd broke the barricades and the media had to reposition as there was no space for them.

As at when www.talkinggh.com left the dome because it had other engagements, there was little of the negative to talk about. With just being the heat in the dome because it was over packed and also little hitches with the sound.

The lights were a bit too bright and could have been made a bit dimmer. Also, there was like no easy way out of the Dome as one has to wait for hours before allowed out.

But, overall, the Reign album launch was a resounding success.
