The Portugal international has previously been linked with a move to London with the possible destinations of West Ham and Tottenham.
Mundo Deportivo reported in July that the Hammers had enquired about the availability of the midfielder, while the same publication claimed Gomes would rather move to White Hart Lane.
It is thought he prefers the style of play employed by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
However talkSPORT correspondent Ian Abrahams now claims the 25-year-old is in line for a switch to Merseyside instead.
In a tweet earlier today, he said: “My top man in the North West tells me Andre Gomez[s] to Everton – so watchout for that one (thanks Big G).”
It is believed Gomes changed his agent last summer in order to make a move to England more feasible.
Spanish journalist Fernando Pollo (link) claims he moved on from heavyweight agent Jorge Mendes, preferring the services of Paul Martin, who also represents Premier League stars Ross Barkley and John Stones.
He joined the Catalan giants from Valencia in July 2016, moving across Spain for a fee of €35 million, plus €20 million in add-ons.
After a troubled first season at the Nou Camp which saw him voted their worst signing by Marca readers, Gomes struggled to hold down a regular starting spot for the La Liga champions, starting just 12 league games.
This has paved a way for his potential exit, although the departures of Paulinho and Andres Iniesta could provide Gomes with a second chance at the Nou Camp.
And while he has been training as normal with the club during pre-season, his future in Spain remains unclear.
The Portuguese failed to make his nation’s final 23-man squad for this year’s World Cup despite being included in the preliminary 35.
