Ewuradwoa Obuobia Boateng, has been adjudged winner of the maiden edition of Citi TV’s Keyboard Idol.
The grand finale of Keyboard Idol took place at the Silicon House in Accra over the weekend.
Ewuradwoa Obuobia Boateng, Nana Kwaku Yeboah, Nana Yaw Nkrumah –Buandoh, Justice Quansah, Joel Yarney Jnr, Kelvin Yeboah Acheampong and Uriel Yeboah-Afreh dished out classical music, highlife and band music during the three rounds of competition.
The judges, Dr. Alfred P. Adaquaye, Kwame Yeboah, and Kokui Selormey Hanson all had a good time watching the children put their best foot forward.
Ewuradwoa Obuobia Boateng won the grand prize of GHS10,000, a plaque, a tablet and paraphernalia from Santol Energy, 3 months free music training from Faith Works Music School, an Asanka device from Techaide, a Keyboard Idol paraphernalia from Citi TV and other souvenirs.
Kelvin Yeboah Acheampong who emerged second also had GHS5,000, a plaque tablet and paraphernalia from Santol Energy, 3 months free music training from Faith Works Music School, an Asanka device from Techaide and Keyboard Idol paraphernalia from Citi TV.
Uriel Yeboah-Afreh also on his third place won GHS3,000, a plaque, a tablet and paraphernalia from Santol Energy, 3 months free music training from Faith Works Music School, an Asanka device from Techaide and Keyboard Idol paraphernalia from Citi TV.
The competition, which premiered on Saturday, August 1, 2020, is aimed at unearthing young keyboardists below the age of 15.
Over 300 entries were submitted by children who fell in the specified age bracket.
The entries were received from across the 16 regions in Ghana. Notable among the regions were Greater Accra, Western, Volta, Northern, Bono and Central Region.
These were sifted to 20 after which the final 10 were selected for the contest.
