Ex-Ivory Coast Prez Made Chief in Nsuta
FORMER COTE d’Ivoire President, Henri Konan Bedie, has been enstooled chief at Nsuta in the Ashanti region.
He was enstooled the Akyempimhene of Nsuta Traditional Area, under the stool name Nana Opoku Diabe, at a historic occasion that was witnessed by scores of traditional leaders in the Asante Kingdom and beyond.
Family members of the former Cote D’Ivoire leader, including his wife and children, were also present at the event.
Henri Konan Bedie and his family, who are domiciled in Cote D’Ivoire, traced their lineage to Nsuta in the Ashanti region.
Conferring the Akyempimhene title on the ex-president, Nana Adu Agyei Bonsafo, the Nsutahene, described Mr. Bedie and his family as proud descendants of Nsuta, adding that it was right that they finally returned home.
The Paramount Chief charged the ex-Cote D’Ivoire president to contribute to help develop the area, and assured that the chiefs and people of Nsuta would create an enabling environment to make Mr. Bedie and his family feel at home.
