THE MANAGEMENT of F.A. Minerals, a licensed mining company, has described as false, news reports that the company paid bribe to get their seized excavators released to them.
The Chief Executive of the company, Francis Awuku, has stated that it is never true that the company paid an amount of GHC 700,000 to the District Chief Executive for Atwima Kwanwoma, Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi to take back the machines.
Mr. Francis Awuku has therefore threatened to take legal action against media outlets persons that have erroneously reported that his company paid bribes to get their seized machines, released to them.
According to him, there is no iota of truth in the hoax reports, which has dented the positive image of his company, so the public should treat it with the contempt that it deserves.
Setting the records straight, Mr. Awuku said there was tension at Foase, where the seized excavators were being kept, following confusion over whether Foase or Twedie was the district capital.
In the course of the tension, Mr. Awuku said he had credible reports that some people were planning to set his seized excavators ablaze if the Assembly try to relocate them to Twedie, the disputed district capital.
Armed with this vital information, Mr. Awuku said he followed due process by writing to the Assembly, who after a careful study of his report, released the machines to his company.
Mr. Awuku said he was taken aback when he later on saw false news reports that he was a Chinese illegal miner and he had paid a whopping some GHC 700,000 as bribe to the DCE of the area before his machines were released to him.
Sounding very agitated, Mr. Awuku said he suspects the author of the false report, intentionally churned out the hoax report just to tarnish the image of his company, threatening to proceed to court for justice.
