The Managing Director of the Despite Group media conglomerate, Fadda Dickson has been presented with an honorary doctorate degree by the Alfred Nobel University, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Ukraine. He was presented with the award at a colorful ceremony on Saturday August 4, at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Assessing the phenomenal and unparalleled managerial role played by Fadda Dickson in media and national development, the Alfred Nobel University, one of the topmost and credible Universities in Ukraine said the outstanding MD has over the years proven peerless and a force to reckon with so far as media management is concerned in the country.
The Dean of Research of the University, Prof. Eugene Cronoff with the approval of the school’s Academic Council and a delegation from Ukraine in a citation presented to Fadda Dickson read “Honorary Doctorate Degree, approval by the Academic Council, 6th May, 2018 (Protocol No.002) the Degree of Honorary Doctorate of Alfred Nobel University is bestowed upon Fadda Dickson Narh”.
Fadda Dickson, was also given an ambassadorial position for Hepatitis B campaign by the Save The Liver Foundation and the Ghana Health Service to help educate Ghanaians against the disease.
He was honored together with 10 others including the Chief Executive of Asante Kotoko Football Club – also the Founder and Owner of Unity Oil and Vision 1 FM – Kwame Kyei, who was also awarded an Honorary Professor.
Under his leadership, his station, Peace 104.3 FM, has consistently remained the most listened-to station in the country.
For several years, surveys and research into radio listenership and reach conducted by Ipsos, a global market research company, has consistently placed Peace FM at the very top, leading the other stations with enviable margins in terms of double digit percentages.
The station has over the years remained consistent in having the largest chunk of listener-ship and brand visibility and, therefore, the honor bestowed on Mr Dickson really come as much of a surprise to the media fraternity in Ghana.
Fadda, has he is mostly called by his friends and staff, has successfully run and is still steering affairs of the media conglomerate comprising Peace FM, Peace FM Online, Okay FM, Neat FM, Hello FM and UTV, hence earning the accolade the “Godfather” of Ghana’s media.
He has exhibited a perfect accord of good leadership, maintenance of goodness in work and many others which has landed him to this honorary degree. He has as well received many awards over the past years to his credit and that of his media entity.
