Fake Soldier for Court
SISSEY IBRAHIM, 23, who dressed in a military uniform and posed as part of Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s security team, will be taken to court this week
The Ashanti Regional Police Command is still investigating him and they would arraign him immediately they are done with their investigations.
Sissey’s movements at the Kumasi Airport on Saturday, where the vice president Dr. Bawumia was visiting, raised suspicion and so he was confronted and eventually nabbed.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah disclosed that the suspect “has been detained and will be put before court after investigations”.
Speaking at a press conference in Kumasi, he said Sissey is said to be a student of the University of Ghana and he feigned as a soldier at the Kumasi Airport.
He said the vice President was visiting Kumasi and so Sissey acted as if he was one of the security personnel of the second gentleman on the land.
According to him, Sissey’s weird demeanour at the airport raised suspicion among the veep’s security team so they called for his arrest.
COP Yeboah noted that the suspect was taken to the Manhyia Police Station for unlawful possession of military uniform and impersonation.
He said Sissey, during interrogation, told the police that the uniform belongs to his soldier brother, who is now on peace keeping operation at Lebanon.
