Head of Communications for Charterhouse, George Quaye, has called Tamale based musician, Fancy Gadam an inspiration to the youth of Tamale.
George’s statement came after the Tamale Mayor alluded that, Fancy Gadam’s talent is a threat to the people of Tamale following the death of 8 of his[Fancy Gadam] fans while attending his concert in Tamale.
The Mayor stated, “We won’t allow him to take Tamale to ransom. The fabulous talent of this young man is a danger to the people of Tamale. He is such an irresponsible and lawless young man.”
However, George has expressed his displeasure with the Mayor’s remarks, asking him to bury his head in shame for spewing such hate towards the musician.
According to George, since his rise to fame, Fancy has provided hope for Tamale youth and the Mayor should acknowledge him for that.
“It is not as though he is selling drugs or preaching violence. He is doing music. Because of Fancy Gadam, some youth of Tamale have hope that they can monetize their talent”, he explained.
