Fight against indecency in showbiz lost – Bernard Amankwah

HE is outspoken about some of the perceived ills of show business but it appears Gospel artiste, Bernard Amankwah is already losing hope in the fight to restore the entertainment industry to its  glory days.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the Presence artiste said the fight against indecency seems to be a lost one because it has become a “normal process” for up and coming artistes, especially the females, to use indecency to gain attention.

Speaking in favour of recent comments by female artiste, Feli Nuna on Peace FM‘s Entertainment Review that she is not getting enough support because she doesn’t generate controversies with her brand, Bernard pointed out that he is discouraged by happenings in the industry.

“I could feel the young lady’s pain and disappointment when I listened to her but I know there are many others like herself who genuinely want fame to do good things but they don’t get it. We are at a point where young ladies, in their quest for attention, don’t mind showing their underwear to the world.

“Interestingly, these same people who are expected to be condemned, will rather get all the hype and attention creating the unpopular perception that it is the way to go. Sincerely, I dread for the next generation because things are rapidly getting out of hand now,” he stated.

He encouraged Feli Nuna and others like her not to give up but stay on the right path even though it could be frustrating. “It’s  just a matter of time, just see yourself as the competitor and work hard to improve yourself every day,” he stated.

On Sunday, September 22, Bernard Amankwah will hold this year’s edition of his annual Celebration of His Grace concert at the National Theatre.

The event, which has been running for the last 12 years, is Bernard Amankwah’s way of expressing his gratitude to God for seeing him through the many challenges he encountered while growing up.

Artistes expected to support Bernard Amankwah at the concert are The Martyrs Family, MOG, KODA, TY Crew among others.

The show will also witness the premiering of the music video of Bernard’s new song, One More Step.
