The Final Funeral rites of the late former Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur on Friday, attracted prominent dignitaries including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia.
The rest are former President Jerry John Rawlings, former President John Agyekum Kufuor and former President John Dramani Mahama, under whom the late Amissah-Arthur served as Vice President for four years.
Others are Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas, Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa (UNOWA), members of the diplomatic community and leading members of most of the political parties. Service Commanders, Members of Parliament, current and past Ministers of State and the Clergy.
The late Amissah-Arthur died on Friday 29th June, 2018. He was laid to rest at the new Military Cemetery at Burma Camp, Accra.
In honour of him, the Government led by President Akufo-Addo has decided to rename the Morri Senior High School as Amissah-Arthur Senior High School.
