ABOUT 50 PEOPLE, including women and children, have been rendered homeless after an inferno burnt their house at Anloga in Kumasi.
The inferno, reportedly, started around 10am on Friday and it forced frightened inhabitants of the house to ran helter-skelter to save their lives.
The blaze, which traveled at a lightning speed, totally gutted 21 rooms in the house and all the valuables items that were being kept in them.
Items such as refrigerators, television sets, computers, furniture and other valuables were all gutted by the fire to the chagrin of the fire victims.
What caused the fire in the hitherto peaceful house was not immediately known but eye witnesses suspected either electrical fault or human error.
It took the timely intervention of the Ghana National
Fire Service (GNFS) before the inferno was eventually quenched, the NEW PUBLISHER learnt.
The fire fighters were said to have done a yeoman job to battle the inferno, which was bent on extending to the nearby houses to cause more havoc.
Meanwhile, the fire personnel said it was too early to state the exact cause of the inferno. They said investigations into the cause of the fire was ongoing.
