THE TIMELY intervention of fire fighters prevented a colony of angry bees from causing havoc at Aboaso near Kumasi recently, it has emerged.
The bees were said to have invaded a private residence at Aboaso, and the occupants, out of fear, rushed to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) for help.
Officials of the GNFS, reportedly, responded to the distress call by rushing to the house, where they strangely communicated to the Bees to leave in peace.
The Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, DO III Desmond Ackah, who made the shocking disclosure, said fire fighters have been trained to communicate with bees.
“We have a special training that enable us to even talk to bees and they will listen to us. Just recently some Bees invaded a house at Aboaso and we were called.
“We relied on the training we have by just communicating to the Bees on arrival at the house, and they listened to our plea and left the house in peace”, he said.
DO III Desmond Ackah also said his outfit recently helped a distressed woman at Medoma, who reported that a snake had climbed her ceiling.
The fire fighters convinced the snake to stop misbehaving and ensure the woman was out of danger.
He said officials of the GNFS have been trained to deal with dangers of all forms so the public should rely on them whenever they were confronted with danger.
“If you have any danger including even lorry accidents, fire fighters should be the first people to rush to the scene before even the ambulance will arrive”, he said.
Speaking on Akoma FM in Kumasi, he complained that NADMO were interfering with the work of the GNFS lately, urging NADMO to stop distracting them to ensure peace.
