Fire Service trains volunteers in Nandom
A combined team of Fire Officers from the Nandom Municipal Fire Station and Officials of the Nandom Forestry Commission has organized a community sensitization and training exercise for fifty-six (56) Fire Volunteers at Goziiri a community in the Nandom Municipality.
The information was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Directorate of the GNFS in the Upper West Region
It said a team from GNFS led by ADO I Watara Fataw from the GNFS and Mr. Edward Serppe from the Forestry Commission commended the elders and the people of the Community for Instituting by-laws which ensured that bush fires were kept under control for the past thirty-five (35) years.
The Chief of Goziiri Naa Simon Yiryel and his elders were grateful to the team for their continuous efforts in protecting the Community from bush fires.
