First Allied Customers Go Wild
• Petition Otumfuo Over Savings
ANGRY CUSTOMERS of First Allied Savings and Loans Ltd. in Kumasi have vehemently protested against an alleged maltreatment being meted to them by the financial institution.
The aggrieved customers, led by one Justice Mensah Acheampong, claim they were being denied their right to withdraw their savings, saying the development was seriously affecting their businesses and families.
The customers, who organized a press conference on Tuesday to tell their predicament, vowed to use every legal means at their disposal to withdraw their monies.
Mr. Mensah Acheampong, who spoke on behalf of the aggrieved customers, said they intend to petition the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to intervene.
According to him, the group, numbering over 500, also intends to appeal to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo about the development, after which they would embark on a massive demonstration.
They called on the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to tell Ghanaians the status of First Allied Savings and Loans Limited, as to whether or not it is permitted to operate as a financial company.
