The First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has called on electorates in the Abokobi and Amasaman areas to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December polls to ensure a massive win for the Party.
She said by voting for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP Flagbearer, and the parliamentary candidates in those areas, the electorates would ensure that Ghana gets development-oriented leaders to continue the good works of the NPP.
Mrs Akufo-Addo particularly appealed to the Abokobi electorates to change their voting pattern and vote massively for the NPP.
She explained that a vote for Dr Bawumia, and parliamentary candidate, Michael Aaron Oquaye Jnr, would ensure the total development of the Abokobi area and the country as a whole.
The first lady said this when she interacted with market women, female artisans, the aged, widows, persons living with disability (PWDs), and drivers, among others at Abokobi as part of her campaign activities in support of the NPP flagbearer, Dr Bawumia’s campaign.
She said the electorates should make a deliberate attempt to go to the polls on December 7 and vote only for the NPP.
According to her, Dr. Bawumia is a brilliant young man who is full of ideas and vision, and a vote for him would ensure that the good work of the party was continued across the country.
She said Dr Bawumia holds the blueprint to free SHS, school feeding, and NHIS, among other social intervention programmes, all enrolled by the NPP, and therefore, a vote for him would bring about sustenance.
Mrs Akufo-Addo said it was only the NPP that could deliver the country and steer it into a prosperous nation, and so all Ghanaians who are eligible voters should vote for the party.
She promised to lobby for a creche for Abokobi if they deliver a win for the NPP both in the presidential and parliamentary elections.
Mr Oquaye Jnr on his part, pledged to bring development to Abokobi and its environs if they voted for him and Dr Bawumia come December 7.
He said, he would also facilitate the upgrade of their health centre into a polyclinic, build a nurses and doctors quarters attached to the clinic, complete work on the Abokobi SHS, complete an ongoing information centre and a borehole for the community.
Mr Oquaye called on the electorates to spread the good works of the NPP for all to see so that they would vote for the party.
In another development, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said his administration will have a strong business environment which he believes will be a key to addressing many of Ghana’s economic challenges and achieving long-term prosperity.
“Ladies and gentlemen, as you may all be aware, Bawumia means business! From being a banker to Vice President to Presidential candidate of the NPP, my commitment to business development has been consistent.”
“The reason is simple. When businesses do well, the economy does well, and vice versa. Show me a buoyant national economy in any part of the world and I’ll show you strong and resilient businesses behind it” he said while speaking at the Ghana CEO Presidential Gala, held at the Movenpick Hotel.
