Flood hits parts of Accra

Parts of Accra especially swampy areas in the metropolis were hit by heavy downpour Friday morning leaving residents stranded as floods take over the streets and some communities.

The rains which lasted for about four hours caused irksome gridlock in both Kumasi and Accra, which also had a fair share of the thunderstorm.

Most school kids had to return home because most routes were not accessible because of the floods

Areas affected by the flood in Accra include Kaneshie, Santa Maria, Awoshie, Mallam, East Legon, Race Course among others were left frustrated over the traffic jam.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has warned there will be more rains.
