The 2018 edition of the ‘100 Years of Beat’ festival organised by Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, Germany will feature Ghanaian rapper Flowking Stone.
Flowking will be performing on Saturday 28th April, 2018 alongside a four-man ensemble which will produce great music of woven spoken language over live instrumentation.
With his depth in Ghanaian drum language and its correlation with rap, Flowking will also deliver a talk on 29th April, 2018 on the theme ‘100 Years of Beat; The Impact of the Drum in the world.’
The annual music festival brings together music and art lovers from different parts of the world to celebrate diverse culture through music and art.
100 Years of Beat tells this story and investigates the relationship between played and programmed beats.
It presents style-formative drummers and explores (back) beat concepts from Brazil, Japan, Ghana, and the Congo as well as rhythm practices of Indian and Colombian music.
