A GROUP of angry-looking New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in Fomena, in the Ashanti Region, have issued a two weeks ultimatum to the party leadership to act right to ensure peace.
They stated that if the party leadership failed to make polling station forms available to NPP members in the area in two weeks time, they would cause more troubles in the party in the Fomena Constituency.
One Emmanuel Doma, who claimed to be a prominent member of the NPPs Youth Wing in the Fomena Constituency, issued the threat on Akoma FM in Kumasi on Tuesday morning.
According to him, his group was responsible for the repainting of the NPP office in Fomena from the NPPs red, white and blue colors to the NDCs red, black, white and green colours on Monday.
Emmanuel, who sounded very peeved, explained that his group was fed up with what he described as gross injustice in the NPP in Fomena, hence resorting to the repainting of the party office into NDC colours.
“An independent candidate, who by the constitution of the party is not a member of the NPP, and his supporters have hijacked all the NPP polling station forms, ahead of the polling station elections.
“This injustice of the highest level, whereby known NPP members have been denied polling station forms whilst independent candidate and his supporters were having the forms, infuriated us to act that way”.
Emmanuel therefore stated that the repainting of the NPP office into NDC colours was just a tip of the iceberg, warning that if they failed to act right in two weeks time “worse things will happen”.
