Former Arsenal CEO Gazidis Appointed by AC Milan

Italian side AC Milan has officially employed Ivan Gazidis as the new club’s CEO in a deal which will run until June 2020.

The former Arsenal CEO was appointed to Milan’s board on Wednesday, December 5 during a shareholders’ meeting at the club’s offices.

“We’re happy with the appointment of Gazidis. It’s a clear sign that the new owners have important objectives they wish to achieve in the medium to long-term,” read an official statement.

Gazidis oversaw a period of great change at Arsenal – long-serving manager Arsene Wenger having left at the end of last season, with Unai Emery subsequently named his successor.

Milan, who currently sit fourth in the league, will face Torino this weekend in Serie A, before taking on Olympiacos in their final Europa League group stage clash. As it stands, they are second in that table but will need at least a draw to confirm their progression to the knockout stage.
