The immediate past Eastern Regional representative on the Council of State has passed on.
Nana Kodua Kese II who was the Chief of Oyoko also the Adontenhene of New Juaben Traditional Area died on Saturday October 31, 2020 at 37 Military Hospital, a source close to the Palace told Starr FM.
The late Nana Kodua Kese II served as a Council of State Member between 2013 to 2016.
He also served on the Eastern Regional Board of the Lands Commission from 2009 to 2012.
In December 2019, Nana Kodua Kese held a thanksgiving durbar at the forecourt of his palace to mark his 77th birthday and celebrate 40th anniversary of enstoolment as Chief of Oyoko .
Nana Kodua Kese II would be remembered for helping many youth in Oyoko and parts of the regional capital secure jobs.
He also supported the academic pursuit of many youth.
As a development oriented Chief, Nana Kodua Kese II lobbied many developmental projects to Oyoko area .Key among them is infrastructural development in Oyoko Methodist Senior High School, establishment of Oyoko Clinic , provision of safe drinking water and tarring of town roads in the community.
His contributions to Ghana’s democratic credentials can also not be underestimated.
He was quite vocal on national issues with his latest comment before his death on July 2, 2020 when he told Starr FM Eastern Regional Correspondent in an interview that ,it was reckless for the Electoral Commission to still go ahead to embark on voters registration exercise in the midst of surge in Coronavirus pandemic in the country then.
Nana Kodua Kese II left behind a wife and Children.
