Former President John Dramani Mahama has started his campaign tour of the Upper West Region with a call on the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mr. Alban Bagbin and his family in Sombo, near Wa.
Mr Mahama, who is campaigning to be flag bearer of the NDC again is in the region with aim of interacting with delegates decided to visit the bereaved family of the sudden death of a family brother.
He used the opportunity to call for unity in the party as well as strengthening its structures.
Former President Mahama, who has promised to work hard to provide jobs, reduce the high cost of living and the general economic hardship when elected in 2020, has already completed a campaign tour of the Central and that of the Northern Regions respectively.
“If you don’t create new opportunities for health workers by building new facilities, then you cannot employ them…,” he said during his tour in the Northern Region.
The NDC, he noted, “will continue the process that we started of expanding hospitals, building new hospitals and creating opportunities for our health workers to tackle employment”.
In his view, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has brought untold hardships on Ghanaians since, according to him, the party made lofty promises which its government is yet to fulfil.
Mr Mahama said the next NDC government will assuage the plight of Ghanaians.
