Fraudster Teacher Grabbed

A TRAINED teacher, who has turned himself into a self-styled ‘Mallam’, has been nabbed at Asempa Na Eye in the Atwima Mponua District in the Ashanti region.

The suspect, only identified as Mr. Agyeman, usually call his victims on phone and warns them that some people have engaged him to kill them through supernatural means.

The fake Mallam would then take advantage of that scary message and demand monies from his unsuspecting victims, with a promise to not to kill them if they pay the money.

Some people in Asempa Na Eye, including a the linguist of the Chief of the area, are said to be among the victims of the fake Mallam’s tricks.

The suspect, who has been exposed, reportedly duped the Chief’s linguist an amount of Gh 5,000 and one Simon an amount of Gh 1,100, which he collected in bits from his victims.

The fake Mallam’s bad deeds have eventually been figured out by some of his victims, notably the linguist, who is demanding an immediate refund of his money, else hell will break loose.

Simon, one of the victims, narrating his ordeal on Kessben FM in Kumasi, said Mr. Agyeman teaches in the farming community and nobody suspects he is a bad person.

Unknown to residents of the town, Mr. Agyeman secretly takes their mobile phone numbers, which he uses to call them to threaten them.

Simon said Mr. Agyeman would not meet his victims personally but he would rather order his victims to send money to him through mobile money transfer.

Simon said several people in the area have already fallen prey to Mr. Agyeman’s tricks and so they (victims) became suspicious that someone was just duping them.

He said he and the Chief’s linguist, who together have paid Gh 6,100 to the fake Mallam, then teamed up and they managed to work assiduously to expose Mr. Agyeman.

According to Simon, Mr. Agyeman has been begging the victims for forgiveness “but we have told him in plain language to return our monies back for peace to prevail”.
