Fuel Station Watchman Killed With Dirty Clothes
SOME UNKNOWN robbers have suffocated a watchman of a filling station at Maaban in the Ashanti region to death by forcing heaps of rag down his throat.
Kwaku Abora, believed to be 43-years-old, was found lying dead, with his hands and legs firmly tied with a rope.
The robbers, who forcibly broke into the filling station, reportedly, took away an amount of GH¢50,000, from a safe.
The sad incident happened in the wee hours of March 11, 2018, and the police in the area are making frantic efforts to arrest the runaway culprits.
A police source said the body of the watchman had been deposited at the morgue for autopsy, as the chase for his killers had been intensified.
The source said it rained heavily in the area on that fateful day and there are beliefs that the watchman must have overslept.
According to our police source, the robbers climbed a ladder to the first floor of the building and tied the hands and legs of the watchman with a rope before filling his mouth with dirty clothes.
The source noted that apart from GH¢50,000 cash the robbers also made away with the CCTV machine at the station.
