According to the Municipal Chief Executive, Clement Wilkinson, putting up extra classrooms for students in the area will tremendously impact education.
Speaking to Citi News after cutting sod for the construction of six classroom blocks at Nsakina and three classroom blocks at Afuaman, Mr Wilkinson noted that though some of the classroom blocks in the municipality are not in good shape, measures are being put in place erect better ones.
“Education in this municipality is very great and when it comes to results of BECE we on top so we have to improve the infrastructure for them to be more active in education. If you take a look at the classrooms, they are not so much conducive for the pupils and students and the new ones we are building will have washroom facilities and other offices in them. It is an important project which will aid in education a lot,” he stated.
“The six classroom blocks that will be built in three phases to be an eighteen unit block will cost about GHS 2.1 million. The nine will also cost GHS 1.2 million. The first phases of the projects are expected to be completed in six months. The whole project is expected to be completed between eighteen and twenty months, both the nine and eighteen unit classroom blocks.”
