THE GHANA Football Association (GFA) has passionately appealed to the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) to assist them financially.
The management of the GFA have openly admitted that they have been hit by financial quagmire, for which reason they decided to ran to YEA for immediate support.
According to credible reports, the outbreak of the Coronavirus, which has forced the GFA to suspend the Ghana Premier League, is still biting the GFA hard.
The GFA, led by Kurt Okraku, particularly wants the YEA to support them so that they could pay the footballers in the league to help them survive these hard times.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of YEA, Justin Kodua, who confirmed the report on radio, said “we have had a meeting with officials of the GFA some weeks ago.
“Myself and the Board Chairman of YEA, Sammi Awuku, represented YEA at the meeting, when the GFA asked for financial assistance to pay footballers in the country”.
Justin Kodua said the GFA officials revealed that the outbreak of Covid-19 has deepened deepened their financial troubles so YEA should support them.
He said discussions have reached advanced stages now, indicating that it looks likely that YEA would provide financial support for the footballers, who are mostly youth.
